Afghanistan School Supplies

This little boy is trying to get the cap off his latest treasure - a ball point pen. In Afghanistan, a pen means you are educated.

Colonial Quilts is serving as the drop-off point in Savannah for a new effort by members of our military. With all the bad news out of Afghanistan, some of it very close to home, we want to participate in something positive.

Learn about what our men & women are doing in Afghanistan on SMSgt. Rex Temple's blog.
After a very meaningful encounter with an 8-year-old Afghani boy, SMSgt Rex Temple decided to start this campaign. He has seen children clambering for a pen, meeting for school in an "outside" classroom, and having class in damaged school buildings. Read more...

We have decided to help him "win this war with education".

This campaign is very close to our heart because it was started by Kit's unit right before he was wounded. You can read more about Sandi's son Kit on his page.
